OFFICIAL: Coach Olusanjo Olutayo Steps In as Inter Lagos Interim Coach!

The Nigerian football landscape just witnessed a major coaching shake-up! G12 FC has officially announced that its Head of Operations, Coach Olusanjo Olutayo, has assumed duties as the Interim Head Coach of Inter Lagos FC.

This brilliant tactical mind is stepping up to the top flight in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), taking over the reins during a critical turning point for the Lagos-based side.

Turning Around a Tough Run of Results

Coach Olutayo's appointment comes immediately after former head coach Shakiru Giwa stepped down from his position. While Giwa will always be remembered for his historic achievement in guiding the newly formed club to promotion from the Nigeria National League (NNL), life in the top tier has proven incredibly difficult.

Inter Lagos has endured a disappointing, winless run of results, finding themselves stuck at the bottom of the league table. Under Giwa's watch in this maiden NPFL campaign, the team managed just one win, two draws, and five defeats in their opening eight games. Their struggles were further compounded by a severe 3-point and 3-goal regulatory deduction, leaving them with a mere 2 points on the board. Following their recent, heavy 3-1 away defeat to Warri Wolves, the club decided it was time for a completely fresh tactical direction.

The First Big Test: Nasarawa United at Onikan!

Coach Olutayo is getting no time to ease into the hot seat. He is being thrown straight into the deep end, and his first major assignment is a massive home fixture.

Inter Lagos will host Nasarawa United at the iconic Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, Lagos. With the team desperate to spark a turnaround, end their bad run of form, and climb up the NPFL standings, all eyes will be on Coach Sanjo's tactical setup. The atmosphere at Onikan is bound to be electric as fans look for immediate signs of resurgence!

G12 FC Sends Their Full Support

It is a bittersweet moment for G12 Football Club, but above all, it is a moment of immense pride to see their administrator transition to the technical bench of an elite league side. In an official statement, the club expressed their unconditional backing:

"The entire G12 FC family wishes you a successful and rewarding spell with Inter Lagos. May this new chapter bring progress, positive results, and greater achievements. We are proud to see you take on this new challenge. Keep making us proud, Coach! 💪❤️⚽️"

A New Chapter Begins

Inter Lagos is gambling on a leader known for structural discipline, operational excellence, and an acute understanding of grassroots and professional talent. Transitioning from G12 FC's management structure to the high-stakes pressure of navigating an NPFL relegation fight is an enormous task, but Coach Sanjo has the grit required for the big stage.

Can Coach Olusanjo Olutayo steady the ship and secure all 3 points against Nasarawa United? We cannot wait to find out!
